In recent years, 4K resolution has gradually become the mainstream trend in the projector market, with its ultra-high definition, rich details, and immersive display effect, gradually replacing 1080P resolution and becoming the first choice of more users. 4K resolution (3840×2160 pixels) has four times the number of pixels of 1080P resolution, which can display more delicate picture details, clearer text, and more realistic colors, bringing a theater-level viewing experience to users. In the early stage, 4K projectors were limited by high costs of core components (such as DMD chips), high prices, and insufficient 4K content, so they were only positioned in the high-end market and could not be popularized among the general public. At that time, the price of 4K projectors was mostly above 10,000 yuan, which was far beyond the purchasing power of ordinary home users.

With the continuous maturity of the industrial chain and the breakthrough of core technology, the popularization of 4K projectors has accelerated significantly, and the most obvious performance is the continuous decline in prices. The breakthrough in the localization of 0.47-inch DMD chips has greatly reduced the cost of core components, making the price of 4K projectors continue to drop. At present, the terminal price of DLP 4K projection products using TI 0.39-inch chips is about 3,500 yuan, and the price of 4K LED projectors equipped with 3LCD technology has even fallen below the 3,000-yuan threshold, which is close to the price of mid-range 1080P projectors, greatly improving the accessibility of 4K projectors for ordinary users. At the same time, the market demand for 4K projectors is growing rapidly. According to data from Lotu Technology, the annual sales volume of 4K projectors in China reached 251,000 units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 31.2% compared with 2023. In the third quarter of 2025, the sales share of 4K projectors in the overall online market reached 9.6%, an increase of 2.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year, showing a strong growth momentum.

The popularization of 4K projectors is also driven by the enrichment of 4K content and the improvement of supporting facilities. In recent years, major streaming platforms (such as Netflix, Disney+, iQiyi, and Tencent Video) have continuously increased the investment in 4K content, launching a large number of 4K movies, TV dramas, variety shows, and documentaries, providing sufficient content support for 4K projectors. At the same time, the popularization of high-speed networks such as 5G and fiber optics has solved the problem of slow 4K content transmission, allowing users to watch 4K content smoothly. In addition, the application scenarios of 4K projectors are also constantly expanding, from home entertainment to office meetings, educational training, and commercial display. In the office scenario, 4K projectors can display more detailed PPT, data charts, and design drawings, improving the efficiency of communication and presentation; in the educational scenario, 4K projectors can provide clearer teaching materials and video resources, enhancing the teaching effect. Although 1080P resolution products still occupy the mainstream position in the current market (with a market share of 56.9%), the growth rate of 4K projectors is far higher than that of 1080P projectors. It is expected that in the next 3-5 years, 4K projectors will gradually become the mainstream of the market, and the price will continue to be optimized, further promoting the popularization of 4K large-screen experiences among the general public.
