Most modern household and commercial projectors on the market support WiFi connection, which has become a standard basic function for intelligent projectors, completely changing the single wired connection mode of early traditional projectors. Early old-fashioned projectors only supported wired network access through network cables, and could only realize video projection by connecting computers, set-top boxes or mobile phones through data cables, which was extremely inconvenient for mobile use and home layout. With the upgrading of intelligent audio-visual technology, WiFi wireless connection has become an indispensable core function of new projectors.
Projectors with WiFi function can be divided into two mainstream connection modes, namely WiFi internet access and wireless screen casting. For WiFi internet access, the projector can directly connect to home or office wireless networks, independently download and install various video apps, browse network resources, and play online movies, TV dramas and live broadcasts without relying on any external equipment. This makes the projector an independent intelligent entertainment terminal, just like a smart TV, realizing one-click online playback and resource update.
The wireless screen casting function based on WiFi is more practical for daily office and study scenarios. It supports mutual connection with mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other devices under the same WiFi network, realizing synchronous projection of screen content, including documents, pictures, videos and game screens. Some high-end projectors also support dual-band WiFi (2.4G and 5G), among which 5G WiFi has faster transmission speed, more stable signal and no delay, which can meet the needs of high-definition video playback and smooth game projection. Only a few ultra-budget old-fashioned projectors or industrial fixed-focus projectors do not support WiFi and only retain wired connection functions.
