The automatic obstacle avoidance function is an intelligent auxiliary feature widely equipped on modern smart home projectors, which greatly optimizes the user’s projection experience and solves the pain point of blocked projection images caused by placed objects or wall decorations. This function relies on built-in high-precision sensors, AI image recognition algorithms, and intelligent computing systems to realize real-time detection and adaptive adjustment of projection areas, making projection placement more flexible and intelligent without manual repeated debugging.
The working principle of automatic obstacle avoidance is mainly divided into three core steps: real-time detection, intelligent identification, and adaptive adjustment. When the projector is turned on and starts projecting, the built-in ToF depth sensor and high-definition camera will quickly scan the entire projection wall surface, collect depth data and image information of the projection area. The AI algorithm will automatically identify obstacles in the projection range, such as photo frames, sockets, wall stickers, and small furniture, and accurately mark the contour and size of the blocked area within milliseconds. After confirming the obstacle range, the system will calculate the optimal available projection area in real time.
After completing obstacle identification, the projector will automatically adjust the projection picture size and position without manual operation. It will intelligently shrink and offset the complete image to the blank area avoiding obstacles, ensuring that the entire projected picture is complete, square, and unobstructed, with no missing content or distorted edges. Different from traditional manual keystone correction, automatic obstacle avoidance can adapt to irregular obstacle positions and sizes, and can also respond dynamically. If temporary obstacles appear during projection, the system will re-scan and adjust the projection area in real time.
This intelligent function greatly improves the convenience of home projection use. Users no longer need to deliberately reserve a completely blank wall for projection, and can freely place the projector in any position of the room. It is especially suitable for families with limited wall space or many wall decorations. At the same time, it avoids the image distortion and content loss caused by manual forced adjustment, ensuring the integrity and viewing effect of video, games, and document projection, and has become one of the essential intelligent functions for high-quality home projectors.
