The lamp is the core light source of traditional bulb projectors, and its service life determines the regular replacement cycle. Most original factory lamps for household projectors have a nominal service life marked by manufacturers, and the standard service life of mainstream models ranges from 3,000 to 6,000 hours under normal working modes. If you turn on the energy-saving mode, the lamp life can be extended appropriately.
With the gradual consumption of the lamp, the projection effect will change obviously. In the later stage of service life, the brightness of the picture will drop significantly, the color will become dim, and even flicker and shadow spots will appear. When these phenomena occur frequently, it means the lamp has reached the end of its service life and needs to be replaced in time. Continuing to use an aging lamp will not only affect viewing, but also bring hidden dangers such as overheating.
The actual replacement time is also related to daily usage habits. If you use the projector for 3 to 4 hours every day, a standard lamp can be used for about 2 to 4 years. Frequent long-time continuous operation, frequent power on and off, and poor heat dissipation environment will accelerate lamp aging and shorten its service life.
When replacing the lamp, it is recommended to choose original or certified compatible products to ensure stable brightness and safety. After installing a new lamp, do not turn off the power immediately after use, and wait for the heat dissipation system to work completely. Regularly cleaning the projector’s dust filter can also reduce the load of the lamp and prolong its service cycle effectively.
