Long-term idle storage of projectors requires standardized maintenance, otherwise it will lead to component aging, lens mildew, circuit failure, and other problems, resulting in equipment failure and inability to use normally. Many users directly store the projector in cabinets or corners after use, ignoring the impact of environmental humidity, temperature, and dust on precision components. The projector’s internal optical lens, circuit board, and bulb components are very sensitive to moisture. Long-term storage in humid environments will cause lens mildew, circuit board oxidation and rust, and poor contact of internal lines, which will directly affect the projection effect and equipment safety when reused.

Temperature and placement protection are also key points of long-term storage. It is forbidden to store the projector in ultra-high temperature, ultra-low temperature, or severely temperature-fluctuating environments. High temperature will accelerate the aging of internal rubber parts and circuit components, while low temperature will cause condensation inside the equipment, leading to short circuit failure. In addition, the projector lens and fuselage are fragile. Long-term extrusion, tilting placement, or random stacking will cause lens displacement, fuselage deformation, and internal component dislocation, affecting the focusing and normal operation of the equipment. It is also necessary to avoid placing the projector in environments with strong dust and corrosive gas to prevent dust accumulation and component corrosion.

Standard long-term storage steps can fully protect the projector and extend its service life. First, clean the projector thoroughly before storage, remove surface and internal dust, stains, and moisture, and ensure the equipment is dry and clean. Second, retract the lens completely and cover it with a professional lens protective cover to prevent dust and mildew. Third, place the projector in a dry, cool, dust-free, and well-ventilated closed cabinet, with a stable placement position and no extrusion. It is recommended to place a desiccant in the storage environment to absorb moisture and prevent mildew. Fourth, cut off all power connections to avoid standby power consumption and circuit aging. In addition, for projectors stored for more than 3 months, take them out regularly for power-on operation for 1 to 2 hours, run the heat dissipation system to remove internal moisture, and check the operating state to avoid long-term idle failure.
